Accessibility - Pawcket
The rules for using Pawcket. Last updated 2026/09/27.
Pawcket is committed to making our website and app usable for as many pet owners, sitters, and caregivers as possible, including people with disabilities. Pet care can be urgent, and we want everyone to be able to find and use the help they need.
1. Our Commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our standard for accessibility. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to review and improve the Service as it grows.
2. What We Do
- Design pages with clear structure, headings, and consistent navigation.
- Aim for readable text, sufficient color contrast, and resizable text.
- Use color-coded indicators (such as triage severity) together with text labels, so meaning does not depend on color alone.
- Support keyboard navigation and provide labels for buttons, links, and form fields.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images where possible.
- Keep the layout responsive across phones, tablets, and desktops.
- Present emergency and call actions as clear, prominent buttons.
3. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the Service may not yet be fully accessible. Areas that may have limitations include:
- Content that you upload, such as photos and documents, may not include text alternatives or may not be readable by assistive technology.
- Features such as QR code scanning and camera-based scanning may be difficult to use with some assistive technologies. Where possible, we offer alternatives such as share links and image upload.
- Third-party content and tools that we do not control, such as external veterinary and poison control resources, may not meet accessibility standards.
- AI-generated responses may vary in structure and formatting.
We are working to address these limitations.
4. Assistive Technology
Pawcket is designed to work with modern browsers and common assistive technologies, such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice control. You can also use your browser or device settings to adjust text size, contrast, and other display options.
5. Feedback and Accommodations
We welcome feedback. If you have trouble accessing any part of the Service, notice an accessibility barrier, or need information in another format, please let us know. Include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser, and assistive technology you were using, if you can. We will do our best to respond promptly and work with you to find a solution.
